This interactive lesson consists of 15 'pages' and a printable crossword puzzle to round off your lessons. Many of the close-up photographs show detail that cannot normally be seen with the naked eye, such as the scales on the butterflies wings that give them their coloured patterns. The informative text is kept brief and to the point to maintain student interest. The "drag and drop" and "touch" activities allow for student participation on the whiteboard. A 30-second time-lapse video clip shows the larva's final moult as it changes into a chrysalis. This change usually occurs at night and was captured over a nine-hour period with a photo taken every 40 seconds. The last page discusses how to create a butterfly garden and this can be further expanded upon in the classroom looking at the importance of attracting these important insects to our gardens.
